M.E Award 07

The M.E Award 07 is an art competition open to any hottie who loves The Motel Sisters, loves themselves and loves to make art! The M.E Award 07 will be exhibited within the show Becos I’m Worf It!

Becos I’m Worf It! is a curated group show all about The Motel Sisters which will be held at Linden Centre for Contemporary Arts in St Kilda, Melbourne from the 16th November – 16th December 2007. The M.E Award 07 gives you the opportunity to be part of the show and exhibit your work in Becos I’m Worf It! All works received will be exhibited in Becos I’m Worf It! at Linden Centre for Contemporary Arts.

So HOT!

In addition, your work will appear on The Motel Sisters official website in an online video tour of the exhibition. People will totally be able to google you and see your work!

But wait, there’s amour! 3 special VIP artists will receive a special thankyou gift for creating the best portrait or artwork of/ about The Motel Sisters and their work will feature in the official online gallery as well as in the Linden Gallery.
The VIP artist will be chosen by the art celebrity… Ooh la la!

All you have to do, is create a portrait of The Motel Sisters or a work inspired by/about The Motel Sisters, send it in to Linden Centre for Contemporary arts by November 12th 2007 and hey-pretzel, you’re in the show! Easy-peasy, booty-squeezy!

The nitty gritty stuff:
Along with your work, send us your name, all relevant contact details (email, phone, postal address etc) and who you have a crush on…just kidding! Your contact details are sufficient. Oh, and don’t forget the title of the work!

Medium: You can do anything Hottie! Works can be anything on paper, like, photos, drawings, watercolours, or even crayon or texta! Or you could do a painting in oils or, like, whatever painters do! If you need that extra dimension, go 3D baby and make a sculpture! And if you are a total techno-freak, make a video or sound piece! Whatever! Just go nuts!
Video and Audio pieces need to be either .WMV, .AVI, .MOV and .MPEG file formats. This is because electronic works will be exhibited exclusively online through YouTube. For more info, check out YouTube’s guidelines on file formats:
www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?answer=55744&topic=10523

Size restrictions: (In this particular case, size does matter, but only because we have limited space). Works must be no bigger than 30cm x 30cm x 30cm (whether the work is 2D or 3D). If you want to create a video or sound piece it needs to be no longer than 30 seconds. Short but Sweeeet.

Postage: Postage is the artist’s responsibility. We spent all our money on BLING, so we can’t afford to send your work back to you. If you want it back after the show, you will need to include return postage. Remember, you can always claim it on tax!

Oh, and make sure you clearly write on the package/ envelope “DO NOT FOLD”. (That means the posties won’t fold it.)

Hanging/ installation methods: Where possible, please make your piece ready to hang using the appropriate method that would suit your work. If your work is on paper and unframed, we will either pin the work or use adhesive tape (similar to hollywood tape) to display the work. If your work is installation specific, please include instructions and equipment (hooks, brackets, additional props etc) needed to exhibit the work the way you intend. (We don’t want any Diva tanties. That’s reserved for us.) All 3D works will be displayed on plinths or surfaces suitable for fragile sculptural pieces.
